Hello! My dental career started back in 2002 when I was a dental assistant. In 2006, I took a Maryland stateboard exam that earned me the title of Certified Dental Assistant. I worked as a CDA until 2014 when I left the profession in order to pursue dental hygiene school. I’ve always wanted to be a dental hygienist, and I spent four very long years dedicating every waking moment to my studies. I graduated from the Community College of Baltimore County with an Associates in Dental Hygiene in June of 2016. During the first six months of my new career, I did a lot of “temping” so that I could make sure that I found the office that was the perfect fit for me. In December of 2016, I accepted an offer from La Plata Dental and became a full-time dental hygienist on January 2nd, 2017.
I reside in the quiet town of Welcome with my husband Shawn and our two children named Braylon and Brielle. My son plays travel hockey for the Southern Maryland Sabres and it keep us busy traveling ot several locations, including Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Raleigh, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. My daughter just recently started playing softball and she enjoys it very much. On the rare occasion when I have some downtime, I enjoy reading, shopping, and cooking.
I knew from a very young age that I wanted to be a dental professional since I’ve always been fascinated with teeth. I look forward to helping you achieve the healthiest smile possible!
I was born and raised in St. Mary's County, MD and presently live in Bushwood with my husband, Josh of 13 years. We have two children, a son and a daughter. I have always loved spending time with my family and friends. During high school I studied child care because I enjoyed working with children. After babysitting for family and working for the New Generation Day Care Center, I knew I wanted a career serving people.
Dr. Hochman was my family dentist and during an appointment my mom asked him to give me a job. Lucky for me, she talked him into it. As a senior in high school, I had taken morning classes at Chopticon High School and then trained to be a dental assistant with Dr. Hochman in the afternoon. Dental care was quite different from child care, but I soon developed a passion for it and have been loving it since the day my dental career started, nearly 20 years ago. I love interacting with my patients and making them smile.
Healthy, pretty teeth make a great smile and build confidence in each individual's life. I work hard to help each of our patients achieve this. We look forward to greeting you with a smile and hope when you visit our office, we give you something to SMILE about!
I first got started in my dental career a decade ago and have been a member of this great practice for three years so far. I am certified in oral radiography and CPR. Spending time with my awesome coworkers and boss is one of my favorite parts of the job!
I’m from Crofton and have two children named Jackson and Harper, as well as a dog. When I’m not busy at work, I like to shop and spend time with my family.
